As providence goes, our decision has been to remain in San Antonio, Texas, and continue to grow Orthopaedic and Spine Institute Medical Centers (OSI). Of course, some factors included the many friends we have met along the way here in San Antonio. As a family we decided that schools and opportunities were very good in this city.
After completing his military service Dr. Cyr continues to serve patients throughout Texas, while I run the business end. Together we make a great team, and have found the balance in our lives for faith, family and work in that order.
We started modestly with one orthopedic surgeon and have now grown vertically to a number of medical practices, procedures and services beyond the primary business of orthopedics. This type of growth has challenged us both to strategically plan, and find the best talent to help us execute the day-to-day activities that are required for our multi-specialty practices.
The Cyr Family Charitable Fund was born out of necessity. Of late, we found ourselves in a dizzying stream of requests from friends, family and organizations and desperately needed a way to organize. At the beginning we realized we had always given unselfishly, but without a plan. After some thought we decided we really wanted to continue giving, consistent with our beliefs and desires to do the most good. This plan focused future giving on
- Christian based charities,
- Education, especially conservative Christian based education,
- Medical needs, and
- Military, such as the Wounded Warrior Program.
We continue to live in San Antonio, Texas with our family of three children. We continue to search for ways to contribute to the local community and give back something around the globe, primarily focusing on Christian-based charities.
While Dr. Cyr perfects his orthopaedic spine skills and continues to heal people with great success, I currently fulfill the role of Chief Operating & Financial Officer for OSI. In this capacity, I am primarily responsible for managing the financial, marketing and operational aspects of the business. It is my job to focus on ways to expand and profitably grow the company, including strategic partnerships that enhance the patient experience and promote the business.
When the call for donations and giving comes in, going forward we’ll now feel confident that the processes we have put in place will fulfill our wishes.
